You Can Feel Good When You Buy Artisan Glassware! You are supporting families with sustainable income and helps preserve artistic traditions under threat from industrial manufacturing.

The Process of Crafting Hand-Blown, Hand-Made Recycled Artisan Glassware

Step by Step Artisans sort and clean recycled glass for melting. Glass is heated until it becomes molten and ready for shaping. The artisan gathers a portion on the blowpipe and begins shaping. As the glass is blown, it’s rolled on a metal table and reheated as needed. Patterns, bubbles, or colors are added using metal oxides and rolling techniques. Finished pieces are slowly cooled in an annealing oven to prevent cracking. Each piece is examined, and edges are ground or polished before sale or export.

Supporting local artisan glassblowers like those featured on Novica means supporting a living art. Many workshops are run by families where children learn by watching their elders. Purchasing their products supports sustainable income and helps preserve artistic traditions under threat from industrial manufacturing. Many artisans also engage in community initiatives such as workshops, cultural festivals, and export cooperatives that connect their work to the world.
